All of our osteopaths are
enthusiastic participants in sports, and know
the frustration that injuries cause. Part of their
osteopathic training includes the treatment and
rehabilitation of sports and other injuries, from
simple strains and sprains to acute and chronic
muscle and ligament damage. They can help you
recover quicker and optimise your performance
with rehabilitation exercises and stretches.
Our osteopaths are also
well equipped to demonstrate the use of recovery
aids such as Therabands, wobble boards etc and
to provide instructions on supportive strapping
or braces that will help stabilise the joint
whilst recovering. Propreoceptive rehabilitation
(Correct positioning of the joint during usage)
is essential to prevent further recurrence of
injury which may lead to unstable and damaged
joints. The correct loading of muscles tendons
and ligaments can also be shown, to avoid sudden
increased in tension that will further damage
tissue. Adjunctive use of hydrotherapy to stimulate
blood and lymphatic drainage can also be given
to hasten quicker recovery
We also have Ultrasound
available to aid healing of ligaments etc, which
may have been torn.
We are also pleased to introduce,
as a further addition to our rehabilitation programmes
for Sports Injuries, PhysioTools.
