All
of our osteopaths are passionate about
their profession. They have all participated
in sports at high levels and know the
injuries and problems which can occur
and how to avoid and treat them. They
are continually developing their skills
with additional courses and regular CPD
(Continuing Professional Development).
We believe that we have an excellent,
professional and personable team of Osteopaths.
You might like to know that your body
is an amazing and extremely complex machine
which, given the right fuel, copes on
a daily basis with most of today’s
stresses and strains. |
|
|
|
| |
Just like a machine though,
there are times in your life when the body can’t
cope and starts to complain by producing symptoms
or illnesses.
Osteopathy as a primary
healthcare system is well established and recognised
as a system of diagnosis and treatment, laying
its main emphasis on the structural and functional
integrity of the body. The main principle of
osteopathy is that if your bones, muscles, joints,
ligaments and tendons are all healthy and in
good structural balance, then your nervous system,
circulation and consequently your whole body
can function efficiently. |
| |
  |
| |
| Where illness has created
imbalance in the body’s tissues osteopathy
can help to relieve this by restoring normal
function, allowing the body to heal itself.
It is distinctive by the fact that it recognises
that much of the pain and disability which we
suffer, stems from abnormalities in the function
of the body structure as well as damage caused
to it by disease. Osteopaths primarily work
through the neuro-musculo-skeletal system, mostly
on muscles and joints, and pay special attention
to how the internal organs affect, and are affected
by, that system. Relevant psychological and
social factors also form part of the diagnosis.
There are a large number and variety of techniques
used by osteopaths and individual osteopaths
may or may not use all of them.
The success of Osteopathy
has resulted in it becoming the most popular
complementary therapy. It works well with other
medical practices and is suitable for almost
anyone. Our patients are all ages, shapes and
sizes and have all types of occupations,! We
treat from newborn through to 90+ and from shopworkers
to actors, sports people to mushroom pickers.
