What is Massage?

Massage is a wonderful way of relaxing after a hard day at work or after strenuous sporting activity or simply to indulge.

Massage is the use of a variety of techniques designed to relieve stress, promote relaxation and general wellness in a person who has no definable health problems, massage treats the whole person in an integrated way. Using relaxing soft tissue techniques, and also deeper neuro-muscular techniques, gently relieves areas of tension or congestion.

To achieve and maintain good health, stress must be absent from the body. If stress builds up within our bodies, we are more prone to suffer from a range of conditions: headaches, high blood pressure, neck and shoulder tension, back pain, digestive and sleeping disorders and general lack of energy.

Massage helps to alleviate these conditions by ridding our bodies of stress, so we are able to cope more effectively with our environment and achieve a higher level of vitality and well-being.

How does it Work?

Massage encourages deep relaxation and relieves tension in the skeletal system, encouraging joints to move more freely.

Massage also encourages skin to breathe more easily which improves skin-tone, making the skin softer and more supple. Massage even improves the appearance of cellulite! It is also a well known fact that Massage increases the elimination of toxins, helping the lymphatic system to detoxify more thoroughly, also encouraging deep relaxation relieving tension in the skeletal system.
