Homoeopathy
literally means ‘similar suffering’.
It was discovered and developed originally
by a German doctor, Samuel Hahnemann in
1796. He found that there are two ways
of treating illness: the way of opposites
and the way of similars. Both methods
are still used today.
The way of opposites
or ‘allopathic’ is used by
doctors for example; they will treat a
sleep problem with a drug that brings
on an artificial sleep. The way of similars
or ‘homoeopathy’ treats the
same problem by giving a minute dose of
a substance, such as coffee, which is
known to cause insomnia when taken in
large doses. This results in the patient
sleeping naturally. |

Homoeopathy is a logical,
safe and effective method of healing and works
on this principle of ‘like cures like’
The basis and belief of Homoeopathy is that
it is too limiting to expect one treatment to
work for everyone as no two people are the same!
Homeopathy is highly individualized and takes
into account the whole range of symptoms, physical,
mental and systemic that each person experiences
and the remedies prescribed are as individual
as the patients.
As only minute doses of
the active ingredient are used in the preparation
of Homoeopathic remedies there is no danger
of side effects or addiction. |
